Questions before you subscribe

No. Romanian Unlocked is subscription-only and we do not describe it as free. The 6- and 12-month plans start with a 7-day free trial, which is the only way to use it without paying.

Three plans: 1 month for 50 RON, 6 months for 270 RON, and 12 months for 480 RON. The store shows its own localised price, so what you see at checkout is what you pay.

Yes. The course starts at A1 and assumes no Romanian at all. More importantly, it assumes you are an English speaker, which is the assumption most Romanian courses get wrong.

Yes. The Practice tab has a curated list of Romanian stations — slow, plain speech for a beginner, national news for the reference accent, plus culture and music — streaming with a player that keeps going as you move around the app. It needs a connection, and it is not sold separately: the radio is part of the app, not an extra purchase.

Yes. Import a Romanian EPUB or a text PDF and it opens in a private library with your bookmarks, position and highlights — a PDF is reflowed into readable pages, so the layout is dropped and scanned pages that have no text are rejected. Long-press any phrase to translate it, ask why it is written that way, or hear it read aloud — and save the words worth keeping as flashcards or notes that go into your own practice. The book file stays on your device; nobody else can see your shelf.

Yes. You write against a topic prompt and get it back marked like a teacher: what you wrote in red, the correction in green, a score, a best-fit CEFR band, praise in English, and a reason for every change. Every submission is kept so you can reopen a past correction.

Yes. The subscription unlocks the app and the subscriber materials — the monthly exercise sets and the printable PDFs — in your members area on this site.

Yes. Sign in on this site and subscribe from your account page. It is recorded against the same account the app uses, so your phone unlocks too — no second subscription, no code to enter. The store checkout stays available if you prefer it, and whichever route you take, the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

Once you have opened a lesson it stays readable offline, and a book you have imported stays readable too. Fetching new content, the AI features, the live radio and the subscriber materials need a connection.

iPhone and iPad (iOS 16+) and Android (10+). There is no web version of the lessons — the web is where the subscriber materials live.

In your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or in the customer portal if you subscribed on the web. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought through, or the web checkout's customer portal. Buying through a store means the store handles the refund.

In the app, from Profile, in the Danger Zone. Deleting your account removes your progress, notes, saved cards, writing history and chat history. It does not cancel your subscription — cancel that separately in your store settings.

Only what the service needs: your account details, your learning progress, and the messages you send the AI features. No advertising, and no tracking cookies. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
